THE STORY OF ALICE
A LEGACY 2 CENTURIES IN THE MAKING
Over 150 years ago, our namesake, Alice Ames Winter, held the radical belief that a woman’s legacy resides in her power, both by raising and encouraging the future foundational components of society, and in seeking and attaining power outside of the home through the pursuit of their passions. She said, "Women have linked themselves together to get and to give and to do. Do not be isolated. Join the other women who are in the midst of things. You will get help. You will give strength.”
Alice House believes that women must actively cultivate and explore the interests that bring them joy, energy, and fervor in order to fuel continual inspiration, improve the lives of those they nurture, and honor their own spirits and principles.
Respite for the woman who cares for the needs of so many is crucial to personal and professional growth, and that’s precisely what Alice House offers. With so many worlds to explore and opportunities for sincere conviviality, we consider it a heartfelt privilege to support, invigorate, empower, and embolden female leaders. Our truest aim is to provide a space where women feel safe, inspired, and valued.
