Over 150 years ago, our namesake, Alice Ames Winter, held the radical belief that a woman’s legacy resides in her power, both by raising and encouraging the future foundational components of society, and in seeking and attaining power outside of the home through the pursuit of their passions. She said, "Women have linked themselves together to get and to give and to do. Do not be isolated. Join the other women who are in the midst of things. You will get help. You will give strength.”
